We sat down with Nirojan Kanagaratnam, Business Systems Analyst, to learn more about his experiences at Rogers! By: Meg Stanton
Career Spotlight is a monthly series that features our new grads and co-ops sharing their unique career journeys. We sat down with Nirojan Kanagaratnam, Business Systems Analyst, to learn more about his experience on the Retail & SC Planning and Support team and our co-op program.
“The transition to the New Grad program was smooth. I was welcomed with an amazing onboarding program, that taught me about Rogers’ history, culture, goals and obsession towards delivering the best customer experience
Before joining Rogers, I watched the transformation of Rogers and the impact the company has had on the Canadian economy. I could see there has always been a focus to connect everyone to a world of possibilities and that is what inspired me to join the program.
As an IT New Grad, I’ve had the opportunity to rotate through the company and get exposure to a cyber security role and two analyst roles, so far. This has helped set my career up for success, since the program really focuses on developing and cultivating my leadership skills. Currently I help manage and support the Sales & Service Portal (SSP) for Rogers and Fido stores, to ensure retail agents can service our customers to the best of their ability. My work directly supports the customer, which is what I’m passionate about.
The work environment is great for a New Grad because you’re encouraged to bring in a new way of thinking, and your team members are always there to help you in your journey. Coming out of an undergraduate degree, a rotational program was great because I was able to see how everything is truly related and works together in a company.
I wanted to work here to join the winning culture and found that my team truly embraces change and always puts the customer first. I feel that my work is well recognized and I’m really excited to see where my development plan will take me next!”
